The mission of the Juvenile Court is to provide judicial decisions, safety, support, and guidance products to children and families who come in contact with the Court so they can become productive members of our community.
This site is designed to provide information to the general public about the purpose of the juvenile court, its basic structure, and programs. We cannot provide specific case information as Tennessee Code Annotated & Rules of Procedure provides for confidentiality in juvenile cases due to the sensitive nature of juvenile proceedings. The Davidson County Juvenile Court is a department within the Davidson County Metropolitan Government based in Nashville, TN that has jurisdiction over children under the age of eighteen (18). Unlike adult criminal courts which are criminal in nature, the juvenile court is a civil court. The reason for this difference is because juvenile court, rather than simply punishing kids, also exists to protect the community while rehabilitating young people charged with breaking the law.

While working she pursed her Masters Degree from Middle Tennessee State University by attending night and weekend classes, and in 1972, she received her degree.
